National Ranking Win for Junior Tour 'OLD BOY'

Ketterings Matt Sutton (1999 National -19's Champion) won the 2nd national ranking event of the season when defeating another Junior Tour 'Old Boy' Billy Bousfield (Stockton on Tees-2004 National -19's Champion & No 1 ranked Junior 2002-3 & 2003-4) in the Final.
Mathew also recorded an excellent break of 330 in the q/finals.

Another ex-regular on the tour Nathan Mann (No 2 ranked Junior 2003-4-Norwich) reached his first senior Q/Final where he lost to Cheshire's Geoff Brassington.

All in all it was a good day for the National Junior Tour , with current joint no 1's Aaron Hatton reaching the last 16, and James Halpin losing in the plate final to Liverpools Denis Marr.

Very well done to all current and ex-Junior Tour players on their achievements at the weekend. I am sure that the future will see many of our current players , making similar strides in to the senior game in the near future.

National Event 2 Newark

Middlesboroughs James Halpin turned the tables on teammate Aaron Hatton who won the 1st event at the Northern Snooker Centre in Leeds 3 weeks ago, when winning the 2nd event of the series hosted by Newarks Cue Club.
Halpin defeated Hatton 200-181 in a very ‘cagey’ final to take the 1st prize and maximum ranking points.

Kings Lynn’s Chris drew pushed Halpin hard in the semis, building up a lead after a long safety exchange which he got the better of, however the Middlesborough man edged the game by 1 point.

Luke Christain of Boston won the Plate and another Boston player Shane Drury the Subsidiary. Newcomers to the Series James Rix (Downham Mkt ) did very well to reach the Semis on his 1st appearance , while Lincolns Jem Renshaw also impressed with some excellent potting.

Many thanks to Jules and all his staff at the Club for making the Tour very welcome.
